March 2017 Update on Financials: Under the guidance of our accounting firm, NAMI Virginia recently adopted a new fiscal year of July 1 – June 30. The fiscal year used to be January 1 – December 30. This change was adopted in 2016. Due to the change in fiscal year, a short year Form 990 was completed and filed for the period January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016. Another Form 990 will be completed and filed for July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. As a result of the change in fiscal year, our 18-month 2016 audit will not be completed until roughly fall 2017. Therefore our most recent audit at this time is for fiscal year 2015 (January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015).

Board of Directors Nominations

The membership of NAMI Virginia elects new members to its Board of Directors at its annual meeting.  Board members are added on an as-needed basis.  For 2018, NAMI Virginia is in search of three new Board members to fill vacant seats.  If you are interested in joining the Board, please complete our Board of Directors Nomination Form and submit it with a copy of your resume or other background information by email to by no later than 5 PM on Friday, April 5, 2018.  Please include “Board Nomination” in the subject line.  If you do not have access to email, you can fax your documents to NAMI Virginia at  804-285-8264 with a cover sheet identifying the fax as a Board Nomination.
