NAMIWalks – Changing Minds…One Step at a Time
Our walk on October 19th was amazing -- we were 1,635 people strong! It was heart-warming and inspiring to see so many dedicated advocates and supporters united for the cause of raising awareness about mental illness. We are deeply grateful for the support and generosity the Walk has received. Thank you.
We are still working on reaching our goal so if you have not yet donated and would like to lend your support please follow the links:

Why do we need to raise $200,000?
NAMI Virginia and our affiliates desperately need to grow and expand NAMI's life changing education programs and support groups across the state. Thousands of people across Virginia need our help!
In 2012, NAMI Virginia and our affiliates reached over 9,000 through our programs! Read more about our accomplishments in our 2012 Annual Report
Be a sponsor of NAMIWalks Virginia 2013!
We rely on NAMIWalks Virginia sponsors to help us continue to provide our programs and services free of charge to the community. Sponsorship levels start at just $250! To guarantee inclusion in printed materials, we need to have sponsors confirmed by Wednesday, July 24th. View all of our 2012 walk sponsors here.
NAMIWalks Virginia 2012 Wrap Up!
Thank you for making NAMIWalks Virginia 2012 a success! Thank you- walkers, team captains, sponsors, and volunteers for all of your support and for helping NAMIWalks Virginia 2012 raise $176,483! The funds raised from NAMIWalks Virginia help us to provide educational programs and support groups that reach approximately 5,000 people here in Virginia each year. These programs help people learn about mental illness, connect with others who have "been there" to gain support and empowerment, and develop coping mechanisms to deal effectively with trying times. The funds also help us strengthen our public policy and advocacy efforts to bring about improvements to the mental health system. It is a priviledge for me to work with such a passionate group of people! I look forward to working with each of you this year as we work together to promote recovery and improve the lives of those that are affected by mental illness!
